A Royal Canadian Air Force Logistics Officer, Lieutenant-Colonel Amanda Aldous ’02 has served at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels in various positions across Canada. LCol Aldous has completed two international deployments — as an advisor to NATO Training Mission – Afghanistan, and to Kuwait with Air Task Force – Iraq. LCol Aldous is currently the Commanding Officer of 17 Mission Support Squadron at 17 Wing Winnipeg and serves as an Aide-de-Camp to The Honourable Janice C. Filmon, C.M., O.M., Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba.
Since her graduation in 2002, LCol Aldous has obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science, a Master of Public Administration, and a Master of Defence Studies. As a lifer, she comes from a multigenerational family of Balmoral Hall School graduates. LCol Aldous joined our Board of Governors in 2019 to give back to BH girls in a meaningful way and carry on her family’s legacy.
“All of my professional achievement and personal growth has been based on my foundation at Balmoral Hall School,” LCol Aldous believes. “Developing into the leader I am today began with early commitments to lifelong learning, participation, and service that were encouraged at Balmoral Hall. I hope that my contributions as a governor will ensure that current and future students receive the same incredible experience that I did.”
Our mission at Balmoral Hall School is to inspire girls’ imagination and the courage to excel, to reach, to lead, to care.
We are a nondenominational independent day and boarding school, educating students from Junior Nursery to Grade 12.
